Hope House of Austin
Hope House (Casa Esperanza) offers a better solution for disabled youth and adults. One that would be home-like , joyful, comfortable and happy.Hope House is like a sprawling country home in an inviting and virtually unparalleled environment. It is gladly called “home” today, by 40 cherished residents. For these people and their families, Hope House brings genuine promise for a bright future. Many of the residents remain here for extended periods of time. Some have been living at Hope House since it began , 46 years ago. Now, that speaks volumes about a non profit organization’s creditably and dedication. Learn more about our history by clicking here.
One of the most difficult tasks at Hope House is the ability to communicate with the residents. Most all of them are unable to speak. We have some exciting news we would like to share with you!
Hope House has f0und a new way into the lives of our residents in the form of very affordable and readily available technology which could help many of them to cross the communication barriers which have stood in their way. There is a simple and effective tool which has been designed to run an iPad which will allow our residents to communicate their wants and needs to one another as well as the staff and their family members. The gift of communication is available for the price of an iPad and $200 software. We need not tell you what a wonderful opportunity this is for us to improve the quality of life of as many residents as possible.
Our goal is to provide every resident with an iPad and the communication software mentioned above. The total amount of funds required if we purchase new iPads with the software would be $24,000 for 40 residents. With your help, I know we can easily meet that goal. We welcome your donations to this project in any amount. If you know of any resources or organizations who may be able to help us please use the contact form which you can access here. If you would like to make a donation please click here.
We are accepting cash donations, and new or used iPads. (All iPad donations will be engraved with the name of the donor, memorializing your sponsorship.)
